SCAN —- CORONA STATE OF ALARM SURVIVAL WITH QUALITY

Hi All

A great Mountaineer once said

´´ Survival is Fine but it´s the Quality of Survival that counts ´´
This was said after an enforced Bivouac just below the Summit of Everest!!

Well it feels like we made the Summit and Bivouac and got back to Base Camp safe and sound and in doing so kept our promise
to ALL our Cats and Dogs.

The Quality of our Care has been maintained and our Adoption Rate has in the circumstances been Incredible.

Quality Delivery, through Quality Volunteers, Quality Vets.

Quality Supporters.

The State of Alarm forced the Closure of the Shop, the Cancellation of Events and affected SCAN’s income in other ways.

We had an incredible Donation response from Volunteers , Members and,
the Ayuntamiento, all of which allowed us get through the surreal circumstances of Lockdown in its various phases.

We put in place Cost Control, which reduced expenditure, but has delayed our Sterilisation Programme, however we maintained ALL essential and Legal treatment to keep the Cats and Dogs safe, fit and healthy.

My fear is that we are in the ´´eye of the storm´´ and have to be prepared for a second Lockdown given the current infection rates, we have stocked up on Gloves , Masks, Sanitizer Gels, Liquid Soap and Bleach and the odd Loo Paper Roll. This time we will be better prepared

We have ring Fenced money from our first Appeal for treatment and supplies and our Shop which is now open is bringing in much needed money for our Bank Account, but we will probably need to keep that topped up by asking for Support once again.
I know that we come back to the same people for this Support, please understand that we will do ALL we can to avoid this, but I would like to avoid another Everest if possible
